Backes & Strauss Present a Royal Dynasty of Diamond Watches

Backes & Strauss the master of diamonds since 1789 presented “royal watch collections” whose splendor cast a shimmering haze of diamond brilliance at Franck Muller Watchland’s 21st edition of the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie (WPHH) 2013 event.

Backes & Strauss did not withhold its masterful design scepter from any of its luxury timepieces that were presented at the 2013 WPHH event. Backes & Strauss presented royal timepieces from three of its most unique dynasty watch collections: The Berkeley, The Piccadilly and The Regent.

Royal Berkeley 43 Bespoke

Royal Berkeley 43 Bespoke Limited Edition Watch commanded attention with over 105 carats of luxurious diamonds.  This breathtaking timepiece has a 43 mm case with 330 articulate diamonds set in an 18k white gold edifice. It features an automotive movement with an open sapphire back that visibly reveals its hand engraved decorated movement. Royal Berkeley 43 Bespoke Limited Edition has only five pieces and is available in size 37 and 40 (also available five pieces each).

Regent Diamond Jubilee Watch commemorates the 60 year reign of the Queen in a Royal Purple presentation. The dial has a purple base of lacquered English roses and displays her Majesty’s Royal Cypher. The case is available with one or two rows of ideal-cut round diamonds as well as handset diamonds in the hour markers set against the Royal Purple dial. The side of the case is engraved with the years “1952-2012” and has an open sapphire glass back engraved “Queen’s Diamond Jubilee”. This mechanical movement (with automatic winding) timepiece is limited to 60 pieces. Regent Diamond Jubilee is available in two sizes:

RE3238 D1R has 126 diamonds (1 row of diamonds) for a total of 4.25 carats.

RE3238 D2R has 212 diamonds (2 rows of diamonds) for a total of 2.64 carats.

Regent Monarch Watch rules in an 18kt Rose Gold or White Gold case and is generously adorned with 507 handset ideal-cut diamonds for a total of 5.08 carats. The dial showcases with 584 handset ideal-cut diamonds (a total weight of 3.25 carats) with white Luminova sword-shaped hour/minute hands sweeping across it shimmering dial. “The Jewel in the Crown” is aptly displayed. Regent Monarch has a mechanical movement (with automatic winding) and is adorned with an alligator skin strap with an 18kt Rose or White gold ardillon buckle. It is also available in a Berkeley and Piccadilly case.

Piccadilly Princess casted its vibrant glow embellished in 23.34 carats of round ideal-cut diamonds set in 18k white gold. It features an automatic movement, displays Roman numeral at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock and is available in a 37 mm white or rose gold.
